The video features the R&B crooner standing by his girlfriend’s side as she is diagnosed with breast cancer and battles the disease. Soulchild comforts her and eventually marries her in front of an audience of real-life breast cancer survivors.
Said Soulchild, who has recently been named an ambassador for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Circle of Promise:
“Early detection is the key to winning the fight against breast cancer. Too often, black women are diagnosed in stage three and four when breast cancer is most difficult to treat. Some women are afraid to seek treatment for fear of losing their breasts or their hair.”
“Yes” is taken from Soulchild’s sixth album, MUSIQINTHEMAGIQ, which was released in May.
